This composite image of the Lagoon Nebula was formed by combining 3 black-and-white exposures taken by Rajiv Gupta with a 5-inch refractor. Different colored filters were used for the various exposures. The exposures were registered using RegiStar and the final image was produced using Adobe Photoshop. A similar technique was used to form an image of the Rosette Nebula. Click here for a more detailed description for that image. |
