This composite image of
the Rosette Nebula was composed by combining 3 black-and-white
images. All photos were taken using a 5-inch refractor by Rajiv
Gupta on gas hypersensitized Kodak Technical Pan film.
The 3 component exposures
were taken using light yellow, dark yellow, and red filters.
They were registered using RegiStar, and then combined into a
single color image using Adobe Photoshop.
Two of the original black-and-white
images, the light yellow (left) and red exposures, are below.
The exposure times varied from 50 minutes for the light yellow
exposure to 100 minutes for the red exposure.
